The Earl & Sedor team recently gained rare access to complete an aerial survey near the Wilkes-Barre Wyoming Valley Airport!
We were recently hired to complete a drone based aerial survey of property near the Wilkes-Barre Wyoming Valley Airport. Because the area imaged was on the approach end of Runway 25 at the airport, we need to establish cooperation with the airport operator. Thanks to the airport management for their unprecedented cooperation to make this possible! We had the chance to meet the people running the airport as well as a Sikorsky S-76 helicopter pilot who was making a stop over at the field.
After establishing a plan of action, we left the airport and proceeded to the launch point. Staying in communication on the CATF (Common Traffic Advisory Frequency) of 122.8, we announced our location and altitude. Drone on, checklist complete, and away we go…
