Here are some examples from a recent multi-day photo shoot for Holiday Inn Wilkes Barre.
The dusk photo involved carefully matching the ambient illumination at with carefully placed practical lighting under the tent. We also rigged additional lights for overall fill up inside the canopy tops, and lighting the lawn area in the background for ambience and separation
Earl & Sedor Photographic was chosen to photograph John Polvinale along with his collection of historical harness racing memorabilia. TROT, a Canadian publication, is an industry staple and has a readership of several hundred thousand. John was quite an interesting collector. His collection includes books that are well over 100 years old as well as vintage racing gear, trophies and thousands of historical photographs.
We truly enjoyed the shoot and the time spent learning of John’s life as a jockey and collector. After the shoot, we chatted for about an hour with John and enjoyed his hospitality. He offer us refreshments before we left. Canadian beer of course!!
Earl & Sedor has been providing editorial style photography to magazines and publications for nearly 25 years. We have established a style that can be incorporated into virtually any publication or web site. Having traveled extensively for years fulfilling assignments, we are often seen in the Wilkes-Barre area completing photo assignments for local publications as well.
How many people can we photograph? The answer is hundreds at a time. Earl and Sedor Photographic is a well equipped commercial photography studio. While we agree with the old saying that “the camera doesn’t make the photographer”, the lighting just might! That’s why we have almost 20,000 watts of flash from more than 25 flash heads and 15,000 watts of continuous light available for any occasion.
In short, we can melt a Hershey’s bar in about 5 seconds! Tim Allen would be proud – we need lots of power for big groups. The best part is that we can be set up, tested and ready for the talent to walk on set quickly. With a lot of light, some advanced planning and the knowledge of photography we can get “big groups” in and out with minimal delay. Take for example the Crystal Band from Scranton that we photographed recently. In came the band, they got into position, picture was taken… and they’re out and ready to go on stage for their 7 p.m. curtain! (click the picture to enlarge)
Actually, it’s a scale model that we are using on a consulting project. In addition to being one of the top Wilkes-Barre area photography studios, we also offer consulting services to large studios and business interested in setting up their own in-house studio. Many situations don’t allow for a large customer to call on us for photography.
One example is a large national car dealership chain that needs to photograph used cars for their website. It’s not practical to hire us for the several hours a day they need – everyday. That’s where Earl & Sedor’s consulting service comes in. We evaluate the need, make the proposal and install the studio. We even offer training on the new studio for the staff photographers.
Pictured here is a scale model of a sample studio we propose. Everything is scaled right down to the height of the walls that need to be constructed. With proof of concept in hand, we can show the client almost exactly what to expect from their investment.
